Cooking

Prairie Melt can be used in a variety of your favourite dishes such as; macaroni and cheese, pizza, nachos, grilled cheese, burritos, quesadillas, fondues, breads, etc. Prairie melt is also great as a topping for casseroles and burgers.
As a general rule of thumb, Prairie Melt melts using almost any cooking/heating method once it reaches 400 degrees Fahrenheit.

Making the healthiest sauce

Melt Prairie Melt in a non-stick saucepan over low heat. Add other sauce ingredients at any stage.

Add it to your favorite toppings

Crumble Prairie Melt on your dish and bake at approximately 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 to 20 minutes. If broiling on high heat, cook for 2-5 minutes only or until it just begins to brown. Prairie Melt will also melt in the microwave after about 1-2 minutes on high.

Filling sandwiches, quesadillas, tortilla wraps and more!

Spread or crumble Prairie Melt on bread or tortilla. Cook item in a skillet over low heat to allow time for Prairie Melt to melt in the centre.

  • “I feel like I say this about a lot of plant-based products but I honestly was surprised with how good this was. The Prairie Melt did melt nicely and has a nice flavour to it. If you didn’t tell me it could pass as a very mild, soft melted cheese.”

  • “It actually melts just like real dairy cheese but it’s made with a potato base!”

  • “Not only is Prairie Melt dairy-free, It’s also soy-free and nut free too. When you go dairy-free for a cows milk allergy you typically have to go soy-free too because they are related. It’s really hard to find dairy-free substitutes that aren’t nut or soy based so this is really exciting.”
